Our History

American Folk Art & Framing opened on May 1, 2001, representing a handful of contemporary Southern folk artists and potters and began introducing and educating people about the dynamic and evolving folk art world.

We have enthusiastically and exponentially grown over the years. Now representing over 30 individual artists and potters, we reliably offer first time visitors and long established clients the unexpected; from new work to newly added artists. American Folk is proud to feature the work of established, nationally recognized self-taught artists & potters. Because we are always delving deeper and seeking new talent, we regularly review submissions and introduce the art of promising artists from around the region and the country.

We host art openings six times a year, providing an interface among artists and art enthusiasts. If you’d like to be notified of such events, please email our gallery at folkart@amerifolk.com, and we’ll add you to our email list and let you know about opening receptions. We have created a sweet community over the years, and would love to have you join in and connect with other people interested in contemporary folk art.

While visiting the gallery or our website, notice the full range of framing that we offer. As preservation framers with loads of experience, we do all of the framing for our featured artists. This gives you confidence that all works are framed properly, with only acid free materials and UV light protecting conservation glass, among other attributes. We offer custom picture framing for everyone.

and YES, we do ship and we do offer lay-a-way options…we are here, give us a call; we want to help you to know the joy of living with original art.

We’ll see you in the gallery!
