Paul Flack

Although Brooklyn born Paul Flack found success in a number of corporate ventures, his professional carrer proved less than fufilling. While attending Folk Fest in Atlanta, Paul's home for over twenty years now, he was struck by the emotional honesty of the work he witnessed there.

When coping with a debilitating disease and a loss of community, Paul decided to try painitng again, an interest he had abandoned in childhood. Recalling his Folk Fest experience, he picked up discarded pieces of wood and painted on the scraps. Paul became intrigued with spiritual concepts and began almost exclusively painting angels in an effort to communicate the presence of mankind's often hidden mystical potential.

Paul works with a variety of household tools and found objects. He is also the co-founder of an Outside Artists' Fellowship, a group of fifty practicing visual artists dedicated to promoting and sustaining the vernacular Southern visual art culture.
