Liz Sullivan In kindergarten, Liz Sullivan’s teachers, recognizing artistic talent when they saw it in a five year old, invited her to paint the walls and doors f her classroom. She enthusiastically accepted the project and has considered herself an artist ever since. She took art classes in college, but never settled into a painting routine until 1989 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She finally decided to giver herself the time to paint seriously. Liz says of her subject matter that it just “turned up unexpectedly”. She was initially inspired by her six cats, but elements of the antiques her husband restores as well as scenes from her rural North Carolina home routinely show up in her work as well. |
